Avia Pinot Grigio
|This wine is a perfect example of the quality of the fruit being produced from the Collio region. Fresh white peach and river stone notes intrigue the nose. On the palate this wine pours forth fresh green apple flavors filling the mouth with fresh crisp acids inviting lighter fare in shellfish, grilled seafood, chicken, and would be exceptionally charming with a buttery alfredo pasta! On or off premise a very versatile and enjoyable wine. This is 100% Pinot Grigio crafted from grapes grown in the famous Brda region in the Collio border area.
Food Suggestions: Pair this lovely, refreshing wine with white meat, fresh cheeses, prosciutto, and risotto.
Les Dauphins Côtes du Rhône Réserve Blanc
|65% Grenache Blanc, 15% Marsanne, 10% Clairette, 10% Viognier
Greeny straw color. With a delicate grapefruit and peach flavor. Lively and aromatic with lemon mouth feel finish
Food pairing: Great as an aperitif, with salads or grilled fish.
Ampelidae Marigny-Neuf Chardonnay
|The color is clear and brilliant. The nose is complex with notes of fresh fruits (pineapple and pear). In the mouth it is well balanced between acidity and generous richness that gives a truly aromatic finish.
Serving suggestions: Platter of seafood, lobsters, bass grilled, cuttlefish.
Horseshoes & Handgrenades
|Horseshoes & Handgrenades is fruit-driven, full-bodied complex red blend sourced from Southern Oregon and Red Mountain Washington. The rich, ripe, voluptuous fruit comes from Oregon Syrah with just enough Washington Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to give it complexity and structure. Think cherry pits and leather whips!|
A Proper Claret
|It is lean, neither overly alcoholic (weighing in at 13.2%) nor overly extracted, nor overly oaked; it is precisely what one would imagine A Proper Claret to be. The wine contains a substantial dollop of petit verdot (22%), adding a silky note of violets and textural elegance, in counterpoint to the lead-in-the-pencil firmness offered by the inclusion of the virile tannat (22%). Tannat, the grape implicated in the French paradox (and the vinifera variety with resveratrol levels that are off the charts), is principally grown in Gascony (land of Les Trois Mousquetaires), though it was historically grown as well in Bordeaux as late as the 19th century. Comparing this wine with the 2013 APC, the second vintage, the ’14 version is a bit plusher and posher, with softer tannins, not unreminiscent of the overstuffed chair at one’s Club. There is still a lovely minty, cedary aspect to this wine, reflective of its perfect balance, with nary a prunish note to be found.
Food Pairing Notes: Proper (British) mutton, proper leg of lamb, (ideally served with proper Yorkshire pudding).
